A. Standard Competency

 Listening

1.To understand the meaning of the simple dialogue for interactive and non interactive transactional and interpersonal purposes, in formal and  informal situation to communicate with the environment and/or in an academic context.

B. Basic Competency       
1.1  To understand the explicit meaning in simple oral transactional dialogue containing : offering, accepting and refusing to do things/help ; asking, giving, and refusing things  ; asking, accepting, and denying information; asking and giving opinions ; asking, accepting, and refusing suggestions/ invitation; expressing and asking (dis) agreement; admiring and responding compliment ; giving and responding congratulation; expressing feelings to do something .

C.  Learning Objectives
      In the end of Learning Activity the students are able to respond the expression of :
·          Giving an invitation
·          Responding an invtation

Dialogue I

INVITATION TO A POOL PARTY

Ani          : Jerry, do you have  plans for the week end?
Jerry         : I don’t have anything schedule yet.
Ani          : It’s mary birthday this Saturday and we have decided to throw a party for her
Jerry         : That’s fantastic! Where will the party be?
Ani           : It’s going to be a pool party at Jay’s appartement you must come by at 7.
Jerry         : A pool party? That’s sound interesting. What about the dress code?
Ani         : Well, don’t forget to bring your swimsuit along.
Jerry        : We will have a great time then. See you at the party.

Dialogue II

INVITATION TO A DINNER
Ani          :  Would you and your wife be free next Saturday night?
Jerry       : I’ll have to check it with my wife, do you have something plan?
 Ani         :  Well, Samantha and I would like to have you dinner if you are free
Jerry       : It would be a  pleasure. But I think I should make sure that Vannessa is free.
Ani          :  May be you can call her and find out.
Jerry       : Yess. I’ll call her and tell you. I think she will be free.
Ani          :  Great. In that case Please come to our house by 7.30
Jerry       : All right. I think well make it. See you on Saturday.

ª      Through the video,  teacher explores the students knowledge. 
ª      Asking and responding to various things based on the picture   

            Elaboration
  Listening to the conversation contains some giving and responding invitations
  Discussing the information based on the conversation.
  Discussing the vocabularies (Verb, noun, noun   phrase, verb phrase, adverb phrase) in group of four.
  Responding  the expression listened both spoken and written.
  Discussing its grammar
